It's okay. You are one of those who work hard. Wake up early. Sleep late and do your best on most days....

But you are still loooong from the life you dream of. And why does this happen?

Few people realize, but the detail is that your Success Level will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is something you attract through the person you have become.

There is a gap between "your dreams" and you "in reality". That gap is your personal development.

And until you dedicate every single day a little time to develop yourself personally to become the person you want to be, success will always be something difficult to achieve.

"Okay....

"you can say: But my life is complicated. I have family, children, a annoying boss, stressful work and I barely have time for myself. When am I going to develop myself?

There is no magic for productivity

You have to find time to develop yourself personally. Period. Without that you will never fill the gap.

And there is no better time than to take advantage of the waking moments, because it's amazing.

You are rested. Everyone is still sleeping, and you will find time just for you. One hour per day.

So, you just need to make a simple change in your day, and you will be on the right path to success!

Wake up 1h earlier than usual

Your body will get used to it. Believe it. You don't need 8h of sleep like the "TV gurus" preach out there.

If you wake up at 07, you can wake up at 06. If you wake up at 06, you can wake up at 05. That is one hour that you need to make the magic happen.

The trick is to tell yourself at bedtime that you will wake up at 05:00, well rested and happy.

Believe me, your body will obey you. Proof? When you are going on vacation, how many times do you wake up in the middle of the night already ready to hit the road and realize it's still 3:00?

That's how the mind works: the right stimulus at bedtime.

This happens because your last thought will be the "how" you will spend the night. Watch a bad, violent or horror movie. Your night will be terrible. Watch something light, that makes you happy, read a romance.

Tell yourself what time you want to wake up and how you want to wake up. Just take care of your last thoughts at bedtime.

No "Snooze" For God's Sake!

Our brain works like a computer. It has the digestion program. It has the sleep program. When you wake up and hit the snooze button on your phone and go back to sleep, your brain rewinds the sleep program.

Nine minutes later the alarm goes off. But your brain has already started the sleep program again.

Then you get up dizzy and tired, and your brain will take another 4 hours to wake up, until the sleep program finishes executing.

Brain programs don't have Ctrl-C. It's a slow march that you don't need.

Hydrate your body

You went 07 or 08 hours without drinking water. Your liver worked hard to clean your blood at night, performed countless chemical reactions in your vast laboratory... and they all use water.

So your body upon waking desperately needs a good glass of room temperature water to refill the tank and start the day.

And what does "Personal Development" mean?

Here is where the trick lies.

There is a Daily Program that if you follow, I'm sure that a year from now you will be a completely different and better person. Here is the program:

  1. Exercise - do 10 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. It can be jumping jacks, running in place, doesn't matter. The goal is to get your blood circulating and wake up your heart and muscles - of course with medical supervision.
  2. Eat a nutrient-rich breakfast - Eat a balanced breakfast, preferably with living and green foods and add flaxseed which is rich in omega 3.
  3. Green smoothies and super juices are a great option. Avoid flour derivatives (bread and cakes).
  4. Visualization - Visualize for 10 minutes how you want to be/have/be in 5 years. Preferably focus on someone or something you admire and really want. Call it Law of Attraction or The Secret. The name doesn't matter. But this type of mental exercise makes you start to "see" the steps you need to take toward that particular goal. You will start having insights about what you need to learn, what skills and behaviors you need to develop, what habits to follow, etc. "Luck" or the "Universe" will start to conspire in your favor after this.
  5. Read good books. Read for 10 minutes some book that will develop some skill, competence, behavior or habit in you. But read every day. If you read 1 page per minute, which is reasonable, you will read 10 pages per day. In one year you will be able to read 3,650 pages. Do the math, a good book has an average of 240 pages. That's about 15 books per year. Is there any possibility that you will be the same person after 15 books? None.
  6. Meditate. Calm your mind for 10 minutes. Believe it... that voice in your head is not you. It's your Ego talking. Sit comfortably in an upright position. Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths. Try not to think about anything. And if a thought comes (and they will), ask your mind: what is my next thought? This totally disarms your mind and the Ego. It will become quiet for a few seconds. If something arises, ask the question again. Repeat until the mind becomes calm. The "blank spaces" will increase with time and practice. The goal is to learn to "shut up inside your head". And this will allow you to notice and feel things you have never felt before. You will feel a presence. Call it Inner Self, God, Buddha, Allah, whatever you want. I guarantee it will be transformative.
  7. Write it down. Write 10 minutes of journal. Especially after having read and meditated. You will have powerful insights. This journal will allow you to go muuuuuuch further. Not even you will believe the things that will come up in the notes and how it will help you get there.

Doing this for the right reasons

Pushing yourself to be more productive is an admirable goal. But without a good reason, it won't work for long.

It's way too important to have a "big why" to do this. It's this "big reason" that will make you continue.

So, before setting your alarm for 5 in the morning, ask yourself why you are doing this. This is the force that will make you work to be/have/be until you achieve what you dreamed of.
