Ready to Grow Your Tech Career in 2020?
It's a quote but it's true...
Success doesn't happen by accident. It's simply planned.
Dr. Lair Ribeiro
Not having a plan led me to so many different paths, but with little progress.
I always had a lot going on... and I was constantly working... but I was disorganized, scattered, and my efforts were unaligned.
So, while I was working hard, I was just spinning in circles.
All of this changed when I started doing a deep annual review of all my efforts... and using the insights from that review to put together a growth plan.
Today, this career planning process (as I call it) is one of my secret weapons. For many of my students as well.
Because it gives extreme clarity, direction and focus on how to expand my career. You see the results happen, because you know where you want to go.
If this is something you're struggling with now... or... you don't know the best way to map out your growth plan for 2020... I would encourage you to try my process.
And what's the beauty of having a Linux Certification?
- First is the focus on growth. Learning for the sake of learning is scattered. It spends energy but doesn't lead to tangible results.
- Second, you will believe more in yourself even when you have a certification. Believe me. This makes a huuuuge difference. When it's time to sell yourself, negotiate and ask for a raise.
- Third, the people who pay you will pay better for your services. And you'll attract more people... Who know you're good. Certification works better and more broadly than word of mouth.
- Fourth, everything is based on Linux... Even your phone is Linux/Unix (Android/iPhone). See that 85% of the Internet runs on Linux. That means many opportunities.
- Fifth, Linux is free... and in a crisis, who doesn't like free?
- Sixth, having a Linux server today is extremely cheap. For $5.00 you can get a virtual server on Digital Ocean. Meaning anyone can create something new and cool, with very little money. You just need the idea and the right knowledge.
But... This is all for anyone who is prepared and knows how to use the tools and see far ahead. And that's what a certification gives you.
This will take a little time... If you already have background, 1 month. If you don't (yet), 3 months.
But it will be one of the best things you'll do if you really want to expand in 2020. Make sure.
