How Much Does a Linux Certification Cost?
Certainly the economic choice reflects somewhat on the decision of which certification to choose.
The values below are per exam:
| Exam | Investment until July/2023 | Investment starting July/2023 |
| LPI Linux Essentials | US$ 75 | US$ 130 |
| LPIC 101 /102 / 201 / 202 (per exam) | US$ 130 | US$ 165 |
| LPIC-3 304 / 300 / 303 (per exam) | US$ 130 | US$ 165 |
| LPI DevOps Tools 701 | US$ 130 | US$ 165 |
| CompTIA Linux+ XK0-004 | US$ 368 (US$168 with our book) | US$ 368 |
| Linux Foundation Certified SysAdmin (LFCS) | US$395 | US$395 |
In practice the prices are similar. Which certification to choose? It's worth checking job sites and headhunters' opinions.
You can also see that a certification is worth it here because the salaries are good, and companies are looking for Linux professionals. The benefits far outweigh the sacrifice.

Prof. Uirá Ribeiro
Chair do Board do Linux Professional Institute
After years of watching professionals waste hours on simple tasks because they didn't know the right Linux tools, I decided to teach.
Today I'm the author of most of LPI's official Learning Materials and mentor to over 14,000 certified students.
That was just one piece. The course teaches the whole path — from your first command to exam day.
